For maximum results ensure the metal detector is calibrated as per the instruction detailed below: Hold the Metal Detector so that the Search Coil at the base is held up in the air away from any metal objects. Turn the Sensitivity Knob all the way clockwise, you will hear a continuous loud beeping noise. Then turn the Sensitivity Knob counter clockwise very slowly until the beeping stops. STOP turning the knob once the beeping stops as this position is the most sensitive detection setting. You may need to repeat this procedure a few times to ensure the unit is at the most optimum, sensitive calibration setting. Move the Metal Detector Search Coil close to a metalobject and you should hear a beeping tone indicating metal has been detected. You can use the Volume Adjuster knob to amend the volume to the preferred level. Now swing the unit back and forth while keeping the Search Coil level and about 3/4 of an inch (2 cm) above the ground. Calibration is now complete.
